Volunteer Opportunities & Work Parties Each spring and fall, DTPC hosts its popular work parties. Groups of 20-30 volunteers from all over California gather to spend a weekend maintaining tortoise preserve facilities and to enjoy a close encounter with the Mojave Desert.
